The 2010 conference will be held at the Sydney Convention & Exhibition Centre on 10-12 August 2010. The Convention Centre is located just next to the Sydney central business district and provides easy access to a range of nearby accommodation.

 

The Venue's Green Credentials

The Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre is committed to working with clients to ensure an environmentally sustainable future. The Centre has implemented changes across the organisation and is aiming to pass on their knowledge to clients; event organisers are in capable hands when aiming to reduce the environmental impact of their event at the Centre.

The Centre’s initiatives include:

• Development of a ‘Green Events Checklist’ for organisers, a step-by-step guide for producing an environmentally friendly event
• Energy efficient lighting
• GreenPower, an accredited renewable energy program, is available for clients
• Colour-coded waste and recycling bins for visitors, exhibitors and contractors
• Waste separation and compacting onsite
• Waterless urinals
• OzHarvest, the food rescue service, collects excess pre-packaged food which goes to those in need
• Partnering with clients to reduce the environmental impact of their event
• The use of locally sourced produce, ‘green’ suppliers and manufacturers
• Membership to the Sustainability Advantage Program – a government run initiative aimed at identifying new measures that will help the Centre and their clients contribute to a better environment.
