2008 Conference…
The 4th Australia-New Zealand Climate Change Business Conference will be held on 18-20 August 2008 at the SKYCITY Convention Centre in Auckland, New Zealand. The New Zealand Ministry for the Environment and the Australian Federal Government are the Foundation Sponsors.
The program for 2008 will again focus on risks and opportunities posed to business by climate change. Emissions trading, both regulated and voluntary, are a focus, as are other complementary measures to drive emissions reductions. The program is structured with plenary sessions that will examine big-picture issues while concurrent session streams will provide practical advice on specific issues facing business.
More than 90 expert speakers from the region and around the globe are confirmed to present. British Prime Minister Gordon Brown will be providing a message via video link. Both Helen Clark and Kevin Rudd have been invited and it is hoped will feature in a Prime Ministers’ Dialogue. Other key participants include New Zealand’s Climate Change Minister, Hon David Parker and senior officials from the Australian Federal government. Hon Bill English, Deputy Leader of the New Zealand National Party, is also a confirmed participant.
