Carbon Certification

carboNZero^CertTM certification

The Australia-New Zealand Climate Change & Business Conference is a carboNZero certified conference. This means that, through a variety of management plans, we will seek to reduce greenhouse gas emissions associated with the production of the event. We will then calculate the event’s carbon footprint, which will be independently audited. Finally, we will offset those emissions we were unable to eliminate by sourcing verified carbon credits. We note that we will be offsetting GHG emissions relating to organising the conference (venue, printed materials, etc) and travel of the organisers, speakers and invited VIPs. 

We encourage all delegates to minimise their own emissions associated with attending the event and consider offsets where appropriate. The carboNZero programme provides a convenient emissions calculator and the ability to purchase credible, verified carbon credits. The venue selected, the Sydney Convention & Exhibition Centre, is centrally located in Sydney and public transportation and nearby accommodation is available.
 

Carbon Offset Sponsor

LMS Generation will provide the carbon credits to offset emissions produced through the planning and operation of the Conference. LMS Generation produces the credits via the combustion of methane emitted from landfills in the process of generating renewable energy from landfill gas projects across Australia. The carbon offset credits that LMS Generation is providing to the Conference are certified by the Department of Climate Change & Energy Efficiency’s Greenhouse Friendly program.
